Test Manager

Function

Our client is seeking an experienced testing leader to support a major global transformation program within a complex aviation environment. This opportunity involves steering the quality assurance approach for a large-scale enterprise system rollout, with a strong focus on business process validation, user acceptance testing, and controlled deployment readiness.

Responsibilities

• Define, lead, and execute the overall testing strategy in line with business objectives and quality standards.
• Set up and apply testing governance, defect management, and best-practice quality processes.
• Plan and oversee all major test phases, including:
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Integration Testing
  • Regression Testing
  • Performance Testing
  • End-to-end business process validation
• Coordinate a distributed group of test resources, including business users involved in UAT.
• Collaborate with product owners, process leads, data migration leads, interface teams, training teams, and program management.
• Manage test preparation, execution, reporting, issue resolution, and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support cut-over testing, go-live rehearsals, deployment readiness, and post go-live triage.
• Identify testing risks and implement mitigation actions where needed.
• Provide clear reporting on progress, KPIs, quality metrics, and key risks to senior stakeholders.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement of testing practices and quality management.

• Confident stakeholder manager, able to engage with senior business and technical stakeholders.
• Effective communicator in multicultural and cross-functional environments.
• Excellent planning, coordination, and organizational abilities.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced transformation programs with multiple priorities.
• Experience leading business-focused testing in complex COTS implementations.
• Ability to work with geographically distributed stakeholders, vendors, and implementation partners.

Technical Skills

• 10+ years of experience in software and business testing.
• At least 3+ years in a Test Manager, Test Lead, or similar leadership role.
• Proven experience with UAT and business process validation.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise transformation programs.
• Strong knowledge of defect management, test governance, and quality assurance frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with test management tools such as qTest, HP ALM, TestRail, or similar solutions.
• ISTQB certification.
• Strong reporting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Excellent command of English, written and spoken.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the aviation industry or a closely related operational environment.
• Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Aviation, or a related field.
  • Experience with aviation maintenance information systems.
  • Experience supporting system migrations.
  • Exposure to Jira and qTest (Tricentis).
  • Additional language skills such as Dutch, French, or German are considered an asset.

Practical Information

• Location: Diegem, Belgium.
• Work model: 100% onsite.
• Contract type: Contractor, full-time.
• This is a long-term consulting opportunity.
• Travel requirement: approximately 30%.
• Language requirements: excellent English is required; Dutch, French, or German are an asset.
