UI/UX designer

Function

We're looking for a consultant to join our client's team, where innovative digital solutions are crafted for critical operations in transportation. This role requires an experienced professional who excels at translating complex business processes into user-friendly web and mobile applications. You will collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including developers, project managers, and business analysts, while contributing to the creation and maintenance of UI/UX standards that align with global best practices.

• Design user-friendly web and mobile applications utilizing modern front-end frameworks.
• Create comprehensive user flows, low-fidelity wireframes, high-fidelity mock-ups, and interactive prototypes.
• Participate in crafting user stories to inform design decisions.
• Deliver designs that enhance engineering team productivity.
• Design complex input and visualization screens (tables, charts, etc.) while ensuring a consistent user experience across platforms.
• Implement user-centered design principles based on business requirements and user feedback.
• Clearly communicate and present design decisions to various stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain design principles and guidelines.
• Collaborate effectively in a multicultural, cross-functional environment.

• Capable of working independently and within team settings.
• Extensive experience in shaping functional requirements into effective designs and user flows.
• Proven track record in designing solutions for various levels of complexity in business processes.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to defend design decisions while working with stakeholders.
• Excellent understanding of UI/UX design patterns and sharing this knowledge with engineering teams.
• Expertise in design and prototyping tools, preferably Figma.
• Experience in web, mobile, and responsive design, focusing on consistent user experiences.
• Proficiency in user research methodologies, usability testing, and data-informed design decisions.
• Analytical mindset with strong conceptual thinking abilities.
• Strong verbal communication skills and attention to customer needs.

• Familiarity with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo).
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Understanding of limitations and possibilities within frameworks like Angular and React.
• Awareness of the full web application development lifecycle.
• Experience with micro front-end architectures is a plus.

Languages Required: Fluent English and Dutch is a strong plus.
