UX Designer
Function
We're looking for a Confirmed UX Designer to join our client's team and help create intuitive, accessible, and engaging digital experiences across applications and websites. You'll combine user research, interaction design, and strong collaboration skills while playing an important role in maintaining and evolving a shared Design System.
The Role
As a UX Designer, you'll be involved throughout the design process, from understanding user needs and defining requirements to designing and validating the final user experience. You'll work closely with users, clients, analysts, and developers to ensure that solutions are both user-friendly and technically feasible.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing user needs and understanding users, their context, and working environment.
- Defining and planning appropriate research methods, including interviews, surveys, focus groups, and usability testing.
- Supporting participant recruitment and gathering relevant user insights.
- Designing suitable solutions and creating low- and high-fidelity interfaces following a mobile-first approach.
- Supporting analysts and developers throughout the design and implementation process.
- Ensuring that delivered applications meet user requirements and expectations.
- Applying accessibility guidelines and UX/UI standards, with strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1.
- Designing, managing, maintaining, and continuously evolving Design Systems.
- Ensuring that components, patterns, and guidelines remain consistent, accessible, and up to date.
- Supporting development teams in the correct and consistent use of the Design System.
- Maintaining clear and effective communication with clients and project teams throughout the delivery process.
The Ideal Candidate
You have proven experience as a UX Designer and are comfortable combining research, design, and stakeholder collaboration. You have hands-on experience with Figma, Axure, Conceptboard, and Mentimeter, and a solid understanding of WCAG 2.1 and accessibility principles. Experience with Design Systems is particularly important, including their design, governance, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
You're user-focused, communicative, structured, and able to translate user insights into practical design solutions. You enjoy working closely with both business and technical teams and can clearly explain and defend your design choices. Fluency in both Dutch and French is essential.
